I'm finished with Week 1 of my Summer Improvement Project. The original journal can be found here:
Improving-You Are Where You Wanted Yourself To BeThis week has been both fun, and a little difficult. I started a new job this Monday, so finding time to draw or paint has been a bit difficult. I had hoped to complete 6 projects every week, but that proved to be impossible. High quality pieces each take me hours to do, and I just haven't had the time to spend to complete that many. I've also got an in-progress piece that I've been working on this week, which I won't post until it's finished.
Pieces Finished: 4 and 1/2
Progress:
This week, I experimented with white charcoal on colored pastel paper. I feel like I've learned a bit, but it was much harder than I thought it would be.
I did more with colored pencil, since I usually don't work in that medium. I failed at times and partially succeeded at others. I worked on perspective, and backgrounds, and tried to make my watercolor colors cohesive, though I need a lot more work in that. All in all, I realized how MUCH work I need to put in.
Things to Work On:
Making darks and being able to shade with watercolor.
Adding backgrounds to my work.
Human anatomy.
Adding expressions to faces and emotion to work. Work on truly
expressing myself through art.

If you'd take the time to comment and critique to help me get better, that'd be greatly appreciated.
